PURPOSE:To improve the quality of recording of line segments whose inclination is close to a long axis direction by comparing the density signals issued to the basic units located at the left and right-hand sides to the basic unit subjected to recording and by blackening basic units starting from the one closest to the basic unit which is thicker in black than others in conforming with the density signals. CONSTITUTION:Picture information source 3 such as scanner or memory sends basic unit information to compare a circuit 5 in synchronous with basic clock generating circuit 4. The compare circuit 5 and a delay circuit 6 receive density informations D1, D2, and D3 for 3 consecutive basic units and compare D1 with D3. If D1 is greater than D3, or if the basic unit on the left-hand side viewing it from D2 is thicker than that on the right-hand side, when writing information of D2, the delay time is set at 0 and the minimum unit is blacked starting from the left side. On the contrary, if D1 is less than D3 a predetermined delay time is set and the minimum unit to be blacked is arranged so as to be right-shifted within the basic unit. |
