PURPOSE:To make it possible to test the capacity of a capacitor including a rectifying circuit by charging a subscriber's line with electric charges and discharging electric charges from the subscriber's line and by measuring voltage value. CONSTITUTION:When testing the capacity of the capacitor 2 for a telephone set including a rectifier such as diode bridge inside via a subscriber's line 1, the subscriber's line 1 is lead in a testing circuit 27 by a change-over switch 3 from a two wire - four wire converting section 6. After electric charges are discharged by relay contact points 23 and 24 from the capacitor, the charging characteristic of the capacitor 2 is monitored along the path, that is, power terminal 15 relay contact point 24 capacitor 2 relay contact point 23 relay contact point 25 comparator 13, and capacity test is carried out. With this, the capacity test is executed without impressing an AC test signal, thereby making it possible to test capacity of a telephone set including a built-in rectifier.
