PURPOSE:To obtain constantly a high quality medium tone to be able to cope with environmental changes by receiving input data of medium tone expressions, and by determining and controlling, from the input data, discharge energy at a standard temperature. CONSTITUTION:A control portion 1 is provided with a conversion portion 1A and a control operation portion 1B; and an ink jet head 2 controls ink discharge quantities according to a driving voltage signal S1 which is put out from the control 1. A temperature detection portion 3 is provided with a temperature sensor which detects an environmental temperature, and the detected temperature is converted into an electrical signal, and it is supplied to a control operation portion 1B as a temperature signal S3. Recording data S0 which correspond to an ink discharge quantity required for printing of desired medium tone expression is converted by the conversion portion 1A of the control portion 1 into an output voltage signal required for discharge at the standard temperature, and is put into control portion 1B. By the above, the ink discharge quantity of the head is properly adjusted under any temperature, resulting in feasibility of a high quality recording of middle tone expressions. |
