PURPOSE:To provide a paint compsn. having excellent resistance to staining and weather, good pigment dispersion and coatability and no fear of yellowing, consisting of a chlorinated polyolefin and a star polymer. CONSTITUTION:A polyfunctional epoxy compd. of formula I (wherein R is a residue of an (n+m)-valent aliph., alycyclic, arom. or heterocyclic hydrocarbon; n' is 3-6), an acrylic prepolymer contg. a carbonxyl group of formula II (wherein X is an acrylic prepolymer chain) and an alkyd resin prepolymer contg. a carboxyl group of formula III (wherein Y is an alkyd residue) are reacted together to obtain a star polymer (A) having a weight-average MW of 1,000-2,000,000 (measured by gel permeation chromatography in terms of polystyrene) and a glass transition temp. of -20-100 deg.C, represented by formula IV. 25-230pts.wt. component A is blended with 100pts.wt. chlorinated polyolefin resin having a chlorine content of 45-60wt% and a number-average MW of 3,000-20,000.
