<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a recording fluid which has excellent stability and does not cause clogging even when stored for a long period of time, by blending a recording agent contg. a dye and a solvent for said recording agent. CONSTITUTION:In a recording fluid contg. a recording agent serving as a component for forming a printed image and a solvent for dissolving or dispersing said recording agent, at least one dye selected from among compds. of formula I is used as the recording agent. In the formula, R is methyl, methoxy, ethoxy; X is H, phenyl which is substituted with SO3M (wherein M is alkali, metal, ammonium, amine); m is 1, 2; n is 1 when X is H and X is SO3X-substd. phenyl. The amount of the dye to be used varies depending on the type of the solvent and the characteristics required of the recording fluid, and is generally 0.1-20wt% based on the total amount of the recording fluid.
