PURPOSE:To improve the solubility of a substrate and measure readily and quantitatively the enzymic activity, by measuring the activity of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase in the presence of a modified cyclodextrin in the method for measuring the titled substance using gamma-L-glutamyl-p-nitroanilide as the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The activity of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase is measured in the presence of a modified cyclodextrin expressed by formula I or II using gamma-L- glutamyl-p-nitroanilide as a substrate. The modified cyclodextrin effectively entraps the substrate gamma-L-glutamyl-p-nitroanilide and improves the water- solubility of the substrate without suppressing the enzymic activity of the gamma- glutamyl transpeptidase (gamma-GTP). Thus, the enzymic activity of the titled substance can be readily and quantitatively measured. |
