PURPOSE:To enable mass production by making handling easy, by impregnating a reinforced glass fiber continuously with an impregnation composition made of liquid phenolic resin whose water content is less than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing glass fiber is impregnated continuously with an impregnation composition obtained by loading a necessary additive such as a curing agent to resol type liquid phenolic resin whose water content is less than 40wt% and having water and resin element for its basis and then the same is made to cure. The impregnation composition is adjusted desirably to more than specific gravity of 1.18-1.30, viscosity of 5-100 poise, pH of 5-7 and nonvolatile content of 60wt%. In case where a solvent is based on water, the viscosity of the impregnation composition can be controlled by adjusting a water quantity and impregnation properties to glass fiber can be improved also. |
