PURPOSE:To facilitate the directional change of a caster wheel in a caster wheel device for carrier vehicle or the like, by providing a horizontal shaft rotatably on a vertical shaft, by providing a second horizontal shaft orthogonal to the afore- mentioned horizontal shaft, and by attaching a pair of semicircular bowl members rotatably to the second horizontal shaft. CONSTITUTION:A support leg 15 of a carrier bed 1 is attached thereto with a first vertical rotary shaft 17 and, through a U-like shape yoke bracket 19, a second rotary shaft 21 formed in its center section with a spherical section 21S to provide a third horizontal rotary shaft 25 orthogonal to the shaft 21. A pair of cemicircular bowls 27A, 27B are attached to the outside of the spherical section 21S through the intermediary of a ball 29 to form a spherical body 31. In this arrangement, when the crossing points P, Q, R between the outer surface of the spherical body 3 and the center axis of the shaft 25 as well as a line L orthogonal to the axes of the shafts 21, 25 make into contact with the ground surface, it is hard to rotate the spherical body 31 but easy to move the carrier bed 1. When the crossing points P, Q, R are separated from the ground surface even by a slight amount, the spherical body 3 may follow up the carrier bed in its traveling direction. Thus, it is possible to facilitate the directional change of the carrier bed 1.
