A lump peat machine comprises a lifting member (1) for cutting peat loose and lifting it, a conveyor screw (2) or other transport means for transporting the peat, and a press means (3) for pressing peat discharged from the transport means, through nozzle tubes (4) in lump peat form, out onto the peat field. The press means comprises cams (7) carried around a rotating drum (6), which each press peat from the screw (2) to a tube (4), along a rectangular section passage (12) which is intermittently closed downstream of the tube (4), to enable the pressing through the tube (4), by a closing plate (8) which reciprocates between the closing position and an open position which enables the cam (7) to move out of the passage (12). <IMAGE> |
