PURPOSE:To transmit easily information to a customer by setting previously a message to be displayed so as to store it in memory and displaying the message when data from a balance reading to zero and the zero state continues during the prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 15, a RAM 18 and an I/O block 19 are installed in the case of the main body of a balance, and a disk switch 20 and a display block 21 are connected with the I/O block 19. A front key 4 and a remote key 14 are connected to the display block 21. Simultaneously a weight display part 10, a unit price display part 11, a price display part 12 and a produce name display part 13 are connected. Then the message to be displayed on the product name display 13 is previously set and stored in the RAM 18. When data from the load cell 17 comes to zero and the zero state exceeds 10sec, a message flag is set to '1', and the previously set message is displayed on the product name display 13. Thus information can be easily transmitted to a customer and the image of a store can be improved.
