PURPOSE:To heighten the efficiency of translating work by providing a dis playing device that displays an original writing and translated writing correla tively. CONSTITUTION:An original writing inputted from an inputting section 1 is transferred successively to a display section 5 and displayed under an original writing mark 6a in a displayed picture. When translation direction is given by a function key etc. of the inputting section 1, the result of translation is displayed in the translation mark 6b side corresponding to the original writing mark 6a in the displayed picture. Thereafter, the device becomes the state of translation editing to correct and change inadequate parts of mechanical translation by interactive form with the operator. When OK or shifting of a cursor is detected from the operator after lapse of time, confining process of the translation is executed.
