PURPOSE:To provide a means to vertically grip a connecting rod positioned sideways between upper and lower balances interlocked and parallel to each other for high precision honing by a honing tool of a pin hole of the crank fitting part or the piston pin fitting part of the connecting rod. CONSTITUTION:A connecring rod 3 is placed on a working chamber 7 at the connecting rod loading/unloading position of a rotary dividing table 1 which is then turned 180 deg. to move the connecting rod 3 to the connecting rod machining position directly below an upper balance 16 which is lifted by a pressurizing cylinder 21, said upper balance 16 being lowered by the action of the cylinder 21 until its lower end surface engages the upper end of an interlocking pin 26 of a lower balance 23 thereby griping the connecting rod 3 between the upper and lower balances 16 and 23. A honing tool 15 is inserted into a pin hole 6a of the crank pin fitting part 6 of the connecting rod 3 for high precision honing. |
