PURPOSE:To reduce manufacturing cost and to enhance the strength of a meter as a whole, by embedding an earth rod in the pipe wall of a ceramic measuring pipe so as to pierce therethrough and allowing one end of said earth rod to face to a flow passage while shortcircuiting the other end thereof to a case from the outside. CONSTITUTION:When an exciting coils 12 is excited and a conductive fluid is flowed through the inner hole of the measuring pipe 11 connected to a pipeline, electromotive force proportional to an average flow amount is generated in the electrodes opposed to the exciting coils 12 so as to be respectively cross the magnetic field direction of said coil 12 and the flow direction of a fluid and converted to an electric signal to perform measurement to obtain flow amount. In this case, one end of an earth rod 16 is contacted with a fluid in the hole 11b provided to the pipe wall of the ceramic measuring pipe 11 and the other end thereof is shortcircuited to a case 14 by a mount screw 17 to allow the fluid to be measured and the whole of a meter to hold the same potential. Further, the case 14 and the measuring pipe are strongly fixed by the mount screw 17.
