In a fan for heating and/or air-conditioning systems of motor vehicles having a drum-type rotor driven by a shunt-wound direct current motor, it is provided that the air-intake opening has assigned to it an upstream diffuser through which the air flowing in is co-swirled in the direction of rotation of the drum-type rotor. The power consumption of the drum-type rotor can be reduced thereby, with simultaneous increase of the speed of rotation.
