PURPOSE:To attain the recording or reproduction with different types of disks by controlling the disk in response to the detected information. CONSTITUTION:The rays of light emitted from a light source 14 are focused on a disk 11 and this focused light delivered from the disk 11 is detected by a detection means 20. Then the property information corresponding to the result of detection obtained by the means 20 is read out of a memory means 35 storing the property information accordant with the disk 11. Then the disk 11 is controlled in response to said property information. Thus the recording or reproduction is possible with different types of disks. |
