PURPOSE:To prevent logical contradiction by providing a preceding means acquiring in advance next scanning line information and stopping the preceding means just before the control operation by a command from a host device is executed so as to respond to the command of the host device quickly. CONSTITUTION:A preceding read control section 11 reads and holds precedingly the information from a line adapter 14i designated by the next line address by a command from a microprocessor 5. The information is used by the processor 5 at the processing of the next line scanning. When a control from the host device to a specific line is commanded, the preceding read of the lineinformation is suppressed and the processing of a line (i) on which the line information is read already and the line scanning processing such as line information setting are executed. Then the line control processing commanded before is executed and the line information to be scanned next is read, and after the scanning line address is revised, the processing restores to the normal line scanning processing. Then no logical contradiction is caused.
