PURPOSE:To obtain a clad steel having the excellent resistance to corrosion and wear by fitting integrally a stainless steel to the outside circumference of a carbon steel core material and specifying the difference in the carbon contents between the carbon steel and the stainless steel and the thickness of the stainless steel on the outside circumference. CONSTITUTION:The stainless steel 2 is integrally fitted to the outside circumference of the carbon steel core material 1 and is rolled to such a semi-circular shape with which the stainless steel on the outside circumference has 2-10mm thickness 4. The difference in the carbon contents between the carbon steel 1 and the stainless steel 2 is adjusted to <=0.12wt%. Both ends of the semi-circular stainless steel are coated with the stainless steel having the same components as the components of the stainless steel on the outside circumference or by welding. The stainless steel is thus integrally fitted to the outside circumference of the carbon steel core material and the difference in the carbon contents between the carbon steel and the stainless steel as well as the thickness of the stainless steel on the outside circumference are specified, by which the deterioration of the corrosion resistance and embrittleness by carburization are prevented and the surface exposure of the carburized part is prevented and therefore the excellent resistance to corrosion and wear is obtd. and the above-mentioned steel is strong to the wear by a wire rope, etc. and the rust and corrosion by the sea water even when used as a fender.
