PURPOSE:To make possible welding by an electron beam by treating one of materials to be welded with a prescribed fused salt to elute the tungsten on the surface to be pressed to the other material to be welded. CONSTITUTION:The 1st material 1 to be welded is formed of copper or copper chromium alloy. The 2nd material 2 to be welded consists of a sintered metal of copper tungsten or silver tungsten and is subjected to the prescribed treatment with the fused salt so that the tungsten 2a on the surface is eluted from the material 2 to form the copper- or silver-rich layer eluted with the tungsten 2a thereon. The molten pool of the copper- or silver-rich layer and copper or copper alloy is formed when the electron beam 4 is irradiated to the materials. The weld zone is formed by the electron beam 4 to the materials 1, 2 when the materials 1, 2 are moved.
