PURPOSE:To improve copying efficiency by fitting a winding tool consisting of many linked joints to an original pressing plate, and winding and rewinding the winding tool with a wider and opening and closing automatically the original pressing plate. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 25 is started, a right opening drum 23a and a left opening drum 23b are rotated to wind a right opening wire 30 and a left opening wire 33 respectively. Thus, the right and left opening drums 23a and 23b rotate and a right closing drum 29a and a left closing drum 29b also rotate simultaneously to rewind a right closing wire 35 and a left closing wire 37. Those wires 30, 33, 35, and 37 are moved to rotate original pressing plates fixed to the right winding tool 5' and left winding tool 5'' as well. Those operations are performed in series to elevate all the joints, and consequently the original pressing plate 2 is opened automatically. Further, when it is closed, the operations are performed reversely and the original pressing plate 2 is closed to press an original placed on a transparent plate.
