A glazing bead (1) of plastics material adapted to be hooked onto prefabricated frames (2) of windows or doors with a view to holding simple or multiple glazing (3) in the rabbets (4) of these frames (2), comprising a tongue (16) equipped with hooking means (18) and at least one supporting bracket (17), characterized in that it has, in general, the shape of an angle member, of which a first flange (13) is adapted to be placed practically perpendicular to the glazing (3) in such a manner that its free end (14) serves as a support therefor and of which a second flange (15) is adapted to be placed spaced apart from and practically parallel to the glazing (3), extending away from the central portion thereof and in that starting successively from the intermediate portion of this second flange (15) are at least one flexible tongue (16) equipped with hooking means (18) cooperating with the frame (2) and at least one relatively rigid supporting bracket (17) situated beyond the flexible tongue (16) in relation to the first flange (13) but sufficiently close to or touching this tongue (16) to oppose the bending thereof in the direction away from the first flange (13) while permitting its bending in the opposite direction.
