METHOD FOR OXIDATION-FREE POURING FROM LADLE TO TUNDISH

PURPOSE:To prevent the exposure of a bare molten metal so that air oxidation can be prevented by providing static magnetic field generators on both sides of a molten steel supplying nozzle with said nozzle in-between and decelerating the ascending flow toward the surface of the molten steel by the static magnetic fields induced by said generators. CONSTITUTION:Static magnetic field and electromagnetic brakes (EMBR) 9 which are the static magnetic field generators are installed on both sides of the nozzle 2 for preventing oxidation of the molten steel with said nozzle in-between. The static magnetic fields are induced by the EMBR 9 and the inverting flow 6 toward the surface of the molten steel induced by the collision of said magnetic fields against the bottom of the tundish 8 receives the brake effect by the Fleming's rule and the decelerated diffusion is executed as shown in the figure. The lifting of the flux 5 near the nozzle 2 to expose the bare molten metal is thereby obviated and the air oxidation is prevented.
