An armoured infantry vehicle has an armoured vehicle body (1) which forms the frame of the chassis. The upper edges (3) of the vehicle body (1) are raised above the upper edge of the vehicle wheels (2) of the chassis. Supported on opposite side edges (3) of the vehicle body (1) are roll-over bars (4) which can be folded up and, in the folded-up state, provide supports and rests for extension side parts (7) and roof halves (9).
