The application is concerned with a motor-vehicle roof rack for transporting bicycles which are arranged upright in the direction of travel, having a mast which can be swung about a vehicle transverse axis from a rest position into a pivoted-up active position. In order to be able to transport the largest possible number of bicycles with the least possible constructional expenditure, it is provided according to the invention that, in the region of its top, the mast bears a crossbar which on each side of the mast can bear fastening elements for at least two bicycles in each case.
