PURPOSE:To improve durability, by providing a means which restricts supply of the pressure of oil to a coaster brake friction engaging device when downshift operation is performed. CONSTITUTION:A second coaster brake B1 serves for operating a device to be engaged when an engine brake is applied for running in the second speed shift range. When kickdown operation is performed from the third to the second speed shift, the pressure of oil C2 begins to decrease, but while the pressure of oil C2 is in a level of predetermined pressure Ps or more, the device, cutting off a port 140B and 140C to inhibit supply of the pressure of oil in the second coaster brake B1, is placed in an opening condition. Consequently, smooth downshift operation is performed by enabling engagement of the coaster brake friction engaging device to be kept prevented till a rotary speed in the input side increase to the synchronous speed of a one-way clutch. |
