<p>PURPOSE:To provide high lubricity, extremely excellent wear resistance, durability and traveling stability to the titled medium by allowing a fluorine lubricant contg. a specified solid fluorine compd. to be present on the surface or at the inside of of a magnetic layer formed on a nonmagnetic carrier. CONSTITUTION:The solid fluorine compds. shown by formulas (I) and (II) are solid or semisolid at ordinary temp. and an alkylene group, an alkylene oxide group, a polyalkylene oxide group, etc., are exemplified as X in the formulas. A hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a phosphoric group and the metallic salts of the groups are exemplified as Y in the formula (I). Since the fluorocarbon chain of CnF2n is comparatively rigid in the molecular structure, the foldability of the molecule is provided and lubricity is improved by the presence of the X component between the CnF2n and the Y component in formula (I) or the phosphoric component in formula (II). Although the solid fluorine compd. alone can be used, the lubricating action is further improved by the joint use of the solid fluorine compd. and a liq. fluorine compd.</p> |
