The silanes react with particles in the gas phase. A monolayer of surface coating of silane is formed both on and inside them. The coating reaction is carried out at reduced pressure e.g. 0.01-100 mmHg and elevated temp.. The silanes boiling point is exceeded and silane vapour is transferred to the particles. |
