PURPOSE:To obtain an end cover which can accurately contact a brush with a commutator by forming a brush extension jig inserting hole in which the brush can be separated from the commutator in the cover, thereby readily mounting the brush. CONSTITUTION:When a brush extension jig 21 is inserted into an inserting hole 12b and rotated coaxially with an armature shaft 11, the pin 21a of the jig 21 presses a brush holder 19 to move a brush 18 on the surface parallel to the surface of an end plate 12a outward to extend a gap of two brushes 18, thereby enabling to insert a commutator 14. When the shaft 11 is mounted in an oil-containing bearing 13 in this state and the jig 21 is reversely rotated, the brushes 18 held widely at the gap is recovered to hold the contacting state with the commutator 14. Then, the jig 21 is removed from the hole 12b to complete the mounting. |
