PURPOSE:To decrease the number of components and to reduce the cost by abutting a scale with the stop member of a minimum width part and then driving a scale by the number of pulses with maximum stroke width when setting the scale at its initial position. CONSTITUTION:Pointers (scale) 51 and 52 which indicate the X-directional copying range of an original platen 2 are fitted to a wire 57 and driven by a pulse motor 58. A stopper 59 is provided to the scale minimum width part. When the scale is set at its initial position, the motor 58 is rotated in a minimum width direction to abut the pointers 51 and 52 with the stopper 59. Then, the motor 58 is driven by the number of pulses of Smax corresponding to the maximum stroke width to set the pointers 51 and 52 at their home positions and then the pointers are moved according to desired magnification and paper size and set their initial positions. Thus, only the stopper 59 is used and the number of components is decreased to reduce the cost. |
