PURPOSE:To prevent the floating up of a rolling material by inclining adequatedly vertical rolls at a suitable angle in the same direction as the progressing direction of the rolling material or in the direction opposite therefrom within the perpendicular plane parallel with the progressing direction of the rolling material. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders 19 on the left side in the upper part and on the right side in the lower part are actuated to press chocks 16 of the vertical roll 15 when the rolling material progresses toward the right. The vertical roll 15 tilts around the center of rotation of the same level as a pass line and inclines at the required angle theta toward the progressing direction (right) of the rolling material. The pressing force to the rolling material is induced by such inclination of the vertical roll 15, by which the stable rolling is executed without the floating up of the rolling material. |
