New disazo compounds, containing sulpho groups, conform to the formula I <IMAGE> or to a salt thereof in which D represents the radical of a diazo component from the benzene or naphthalene series, X represents a bridging member, K represents the radical of a heterocyclic coupling component or of a CH-acidic compound which can be enolised, and n represents 1-4 and the remaining symbols are as defined in Claim 1; they may also be present as solid or liquid-aqueous formulations thereof. The compounds and their preparations are used for dyeing or printing organic substrates which contain hydroxyl groups or nitrogen, such as cellulose-containing textiles, leather and, in particular, paper. They are also used for dyeing or printing glass or glass products, and can also be employed for the production of inks.
