The invention relates to a control valve for thermal power stations, for controlling the boiler steam temperature by injecting water, the control valve consisting of a valve seat and a valve body which is inserted into the bore of the valve seat and is seated on the closing edge thereof. In order to improve reliability and to facilitate the installation of the control valve, it is proposed that the bore of the valve seat merges above the closing edge into a part which expands conically upwards and ends at the top in a cylindrical part, the controlling part of the valve body fitting into the bore of the valve seat being cylindrical along its length.
