PURPOSE:To form a proper gripper inserting space and securely carry out temporarily receiving of sheets of feed paper by means of composite construction of a main claw and a sub-claw. CONSTITUTION:A guide groove 9 is provided through the longitudinal direction of a main claw 1, and the slide arm 7 and the sheet retainer foot member 8 of a sub-claw 2 is inserted through the guide groove 9 to obtain a vertical movement, with the guide groove 9 as a guide. When the sub-claw 2 is lifted up, its sheet retainer foot member 8 is housed in a handling claw 4, while being projected downward when the sub-claw 2 is lowered. Under the handling claws 4 of the right and left main claws 1 which temporarily receive sheets of feed paper, the lowered right and left sub-claws 2 hole down the front edge part of the top surface of already stored paper sheet block A and presses. The stored paper sheet block A is pressed in an area between the right and left pressing parts, forming a gripper inserting space between said pressed area and the sheets of temporarily received feed paper (a).
