PURPOSE:To maintain the uniformity of coating by horizontally moving a spray gun with the first moving means, then moving by the set pitch in the shifting direction with the second moving means and further moving in the reverse direction with the first moving means. CONSTITUTION:In a spray gun automatic spray device for computer color matching, etc., the first moving means for reciprocating a spray gun through the region A1 opposed to a material to be coated and the region A2 projecting to both outer sides in the coating direction and the second moving means for moving the spray gun in the shifting direction different from the coating direction are provided. The spray gun is moved in the region A1 with the first moving means at a constant speed and accelerated or slowed down in the region A2. Subsequently, the spray gun is moved with the second moving means in the shifting direction by the set pitch, then moved in the coating direction reverse to the preceding coating with the first moving means. Uniform coating is thus carried out.
