PURPOSE:To weld ears of electrode plates simply and in a stable condition each other, by heat-melting with a burner the lower end of a lead bar projecting from a holding tube, in which the lead bar is held with a play, dropping the molten lead around the ear of each electrode plate in a metal mould, and heating the ear of each electrode plate by the burner. CONSTITUTION:At the upper side of plural electrode plate ears 2 to weld, a lead bar holding hollow tube 6 of a heatproof metal such as iron is placed vertically with a specific distance. In the holding tube 6 is inserted a solid lead bar 8 with a play, with its lower end supported by the pawl 7a of a supporting member 7. At the holding tube 6 is connected a burner 9 by a connecting arm 10, and the lower end 8a of the lead bar is heated and melted by the flame of the burner, and then, the molten lead is dropped down around the ear of each electrode plate in a metal mould 1. While the lead bar 8 is shortened gradually as the lower end 8a is melted and dropped down, it goes down by the own weight to the pawl 7a within the holding tube 6, and the new lower end 8a is heated and melted by the burner 9. While heating and melting operation is exercised, the holding tube 6 is moved to the right in order. Thus, the ears of electrode plates and electrode connecting members 3 are welded in a stable condition each other. |
