PURPOSE:To make possible the considerable extension of the life of a filter by passing continuously a magnetic paint formed by dispersing ferromagnetic material powder into a high polymer binder soln. through a filter provided in an ultrasonic irradiating device and filtering the paint while treating ultrasonically the powder then coating the powder on a non-magnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic coating liquid 11 prepd. by dispersing uniformly the ferromagnetic powder into an org. solvent soln. of the high-polymer binder is stored in a stock tank 12. The liquid is kept stirred by a stirrer to avoid settling, flocculating, etc. during the storage. The magnetic coating liquid is fed by a liquid feed pump 13 to a filter 14 provided in the ultrasonic irradiating device 15 where the coating liquid is filtered under the irradiation of the ultrasonic wave thereto prior to the starting of coating. The liquid is then conducted to a coating part 16 and is coated on the non-magnetic substrate. About 20-50kHz ultrasonic frequency is used in this case.
