MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To make possible the recording at high density by providing a magnetic layer consisting essentially of magnetic powder and binder on a substrate consisting of a non-magnetic material and specifying a glass component to be incorporated into the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:Glass such as glass beads and glass powder is used as a dispersion medium for the magnetic powder and the glass component to be incorporated into the magnetic layer on a substrate is limited within a 0.05-5% range by weight. The magnetic paint dispersed with the magnetic powder by using the glass beads is coated on a polyester base film and is dried to form the magnetic layer. The magnetic powder is thereby uniformly and thoroughly dispersed into the magnetic layer, by which the magnetization recording at the high density is made possible and the good durability is obtd.
