PURPOSE:To decrease the least distance of a UQ code word by providing an interleaver accessing the address of a memory with a prescribed procedure through a command of a control circuit, applying interleaving so as to arrange the UQ coder and a Cr code word to be made orthogonal. CONSTITUTION:The 1st information I1 is inputted from a terminal 1 and inputted to a Cc coder 3 via a switch S1 and a terminal P1. On the other hand, the 2nd information I2 is inputted from a terminal P2 to a Q coder 5, where Q coding is applied. The coded Q code words are superimposed by an adder circuit, the result is inputted to the Cr coder 4, where the Cr coding is applied. The 3rd information I3 is inputted to an R coder 6, the R code words are added by an adder A2 to obtain a code word of nc, x, nr symbols finally. The entirely converse operation as the sending side has only to be performed at the reception side. The UQ code word and the Cr code word are made orthogonal by adding the interleaver 31 and a de-interleaver 32.
