PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous writing of a floppy disk by so controlling that power source of the device cannot be stopped when the disk is clamped and enabling to stop supply of power source after clamping is released. CONSTITUTION:In a floppy disk device 1 mounted to or belonging to an information processing device, when a clamping mechanism operates, a switch 2 is closed. When a power source switch 5 is closed, for instance, AC power source AC is supplied as power source 6 of the device, and voltage is supplied to each part of the information processing device. Accordingly, a relay 3 is operated by voltage supplied from power source +V and closes a contact 4. Even if an operator opens the switch 5 without releasing clamping of the device 1, power source AC is supplied through the contact 4, and accordingly, the power source 6 continues operation. When the operator releases clamping, the switch 2 is opened, and the relay 3 is restored and opens the contact 4. Thus, as clamping of the device 1 is released through operation of the power source 6 stops, erroneous writing is prevented.
