PURPOSE:To operate an appliance in either vertical or horizontal direction by making a display direction variable and marking obliquely a key top. CONSTITUTION:A display such as a field matrix display available from arraying the same number of dots in the vertical direction as in horizontal one is used for a display 1. Its display direction is displayed and controlled by a central processing unit in a main body by means of software processing so that an operator can read. A character, etc., displayed on the displays 1 is inputted through a keyboard 2, to which the display mark of the key top is obliquely applied. Even when the appliance main body is set in either the vertical or horizontal direction, the operator can easily maintain the visible state by the display mark of such a key top.
