PURPOSE:To expand easily a system by connecting plural terminal buses connecting a multiplex section at each communication line and a terminal device to a relay section to perform data relay in the lump among digital communication lines. CONSTITUTION:Time division multiplex sections 81-84 provided with digital communication lines 11-14 and terminal interfaces 41-44 are connected by terminal buses 31-34, which are connected to a relay section 100. The relay section 100 generates a time division control signal group synchronously with a read signal and a write signal incoming from the multiplex sections 81-84 via the buses 31-34 and generates a memory write signal and a memory read signal to a buffer memory storing tentatively the relay data. Then the relay request is discriminated at the first half of each time division control signal and the write or read is attained to the buffer memory at the latter half.
