PURPOSE:To simplify manufacturing stages and to increase the heat conductivity of the resulting hydrogen storage body by plasma-spraying powder of a hydrogen alloy and metallic powder having high heat conductivity on a carrier in an atomosphere of hydrogen under low pressure. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a hydrogen storage alloy is mixed metallic powder having high heat conductivity. The powdery metallic mixture is plasma-sprayed on a porous carrier and solidified in an atomosphere of hydrogen or a gaseous mixture of hydrogen with a nonoxidizing gas under low pressure. The resulting hydrogen storage body is sealed in a hydrogen storage device in said atmosphere.
