PURPOSE:The titled composition excellent in moldability and suitable for the production of electroconductive fibers, films, etc., obtained by dispersing electroconductive fine fibers in a polyester based on a polyethylene terephthalate component and effecting the solid state polymerization of the polyester. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic acid component based on terephthalic acid is reacted with a glycol component based on ethylene glycol or tetramethylene glycol to produce a polyester polymer in which the repeating units of the formula (wherein n is 2-4) amounts to at least 70mol% of the polyester component. Electroconductive fine fiber (e.g., stainless steel fiber or carbon fiber) is dispsersed in this polyester polymer and the solid state polymerization of the polyester is effected to obtain the purpose electroconductive polyester composition having an extractable low-molecular matter content <=3wt% and a specific resistance <10<7>OMEGA.cm.
