Method of controlling the defrosting of an evaporator of a heat pump, in which the temperature of the coolant flowing in is measured and the deviation is determined with an adjustable set value and in which furthermore the temperature of the coolant flowing off is detected and its deviation established with a further predefinable threshold, after which the defrosting of the evaporator is cleared but is only initiated when the deviation occurs for a given time.
