Wheel shield

A wheel shield for disk wheels is described, which has two shield parts which are assigned concentrically to one another and delimit between them an annular gap lying in the region in front of air suction openings of the wheel bowl, and fan blades formed on the shield rear side which bridge the annular gap, as well as, provided in the radially outer region, a fastening ring for clamping elements. In a known wheel shield of this type, both shield parts including the fan blades and the fastening ring are formed by a shaped part which, with regard to its thermal stress, is manufactured from high-grade plastic which guarantees dimensional stability and is correspondingly expensive. The one-piece formation of the shield parts also creates problems in this case with regard to a desired colour design of their visible side, since e.g. multicolour cannot be produced economically by means of stencils. The invention provides a remedy to these difficulties, by fastening ring and fan blades forming a separate component, onto which the shield parts which likewise form separate components are placed. It is thus possible to treat the surfaces of both components present on the visible side mutually independently and to make these parts economically, e.g. from sheet metal.
