Acetabulum implant with tapping screw-thread whose outer contour comprises one or more cones. The invention preferably provides a triangular profile having a broad thread base provided with a surface structure. Bone grows into this surface structure and thereby strengthens the implant bedding. In order to limit the force required to screw the implant into the bone, the threads of the tapping screw-thread are disposed only up to about half the height of the implant. In order to strengthen the implant bedding the spherical outer surface adjoining the screw-thread is also provided with a surface structure. In order to avoid damage to the moving surface of the mechanical femoral head during setting, the plastic insert of the implant is provided with a collar larger than the outer diameter of the screw-thread. <IMAGE>
