PURPOSE:To permit extremely exact and convenient application of joint tape by providing plural cutting lines to a base of tape with an appropriate distance and coating a pressure sensitive adhesive on the rear surface of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A masking tape for applying a coating compsn. to a specified shape and thickness on an article to be worked is prepd. by providing plural cutting lines 12 such as perforation, etc. with an appropriate distance to a base material 11, such as paper, plastic film, etc. for the tape, and a pressure sensitive adhesive material is coated on the rear side of the base material and a sheet of parting paper is stuck to below the pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The tape is stuck to an article on the part to be applied coating material and sealing agent, etc., a part of the tape is removed thereafter, and a coating material is coated to the part from where the tape is removed, extremely exact and convenient application of joint tape is permitted.
