PURPOSE:To prevent accident such as contacting the frame because of elongation of the chain by providing an upper sprocket shaft with capability of moving vertically, and by driving it either manually or by a motor driven mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Rotating a lever 29 will lift a rod 34 in the inclined direction of a conveyor through the action of a rotary shaft 27, gear box 26, a drive shaft out of illustration, and a pair of gearing mechanisms 35 on the right and left of this device. Accordingly the right and left holders 32 slide upward together along their respective guides 33 to cause rise of a shaft 5 supporting an upper sprocket 5, when the shaft keeps its horizontal attitude. Thus slack caused by elongated chain 9 is absorbed to provide uniform tensing, which will prevent a possible accident of the chain contacting the frame. |
