PURPOSE:To prevent generation of pinholes in a non-impregnated belt or lowering of strength from occurring, by providing a non-impregnated belt by fusing yarns in the longitudinal direction to yarns in the transverse direction. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon 1 has a construction wherein yarns in the transverse direction of an ink-impregnated region 3 and the non-impregnated belt 2 are 6,6-nylon yarns or the like, while only yarns 21 in the longitudinal direction of the non-impregnated belt 2 are polycapramide yarns having a melting point considerably lower than that of the yarns 22, and the ribbon 1 is woven from the yarns 21, the yarns 22 and yarns 31 in the periphery of the belt 2 in the region 3. After weaving, the fabric ribbon 1 is heated to a temperature of about 150 deg.C to melt the yarns 21 and infiltrate the melted material between the yarns 22 and the yarns 31, thereby filling up the gaps between the unmelted yarns 22, 31, whereby a non-impregnable property is provided, and movement of an ink passing over a boundary is perfectly prevented from occurring. |
