PURPOSE:To always enable the rapid formation of a whisker preform in a highly homogenous structure while rapidly filtering a dispersion in such a state that all of the secondary flocs of the whiskers mixed in the dispersion are disassembled, by filtering an aqueous dispersion containing whiskers at dispersion concn. of 10 g/l or more at a high speed through a jet flow-collision process and applying drying treatment to the obtained wet whisker cake as it is or after said cake was compressed to predetermined density. CONSTITUTION:The object of this invention is limited to a relatively high concn. aqueous dispersion containing whiskers at dispersing concn. of 10 g/l or more and said dispersion is filtered at a high speed through a jet flow-collision process. This operation is performed, for example, through a means wherein the whisker dispersion is injected from small holes such as orifices provided to a filter apparatus under pressure and the formed jet stream is collided with opposed matter such as a wall, a filter material or a barrier plate. Next, the whisker dispersion is immediately filtered at a high speed by the filter material on the bottom of a tank and water being a dispersing medium is separated as a filtrate. The wet whisker cake molded into various shapes by filtering is dried as it is or after was compressed to predetermined density. |
