OPTICAL COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain the simple and accurate input of coordinates by means of an ordinary pen or a finger by driving in time series a group of polarizing elements to which the light beams are supplied. CONSTITUTION:A pair of a polarizing element array 10X and a photoreceptor array 12X for input of X coordinates are set opposite to each other on the two counter sides of a rectangular frame. While a pair of polarizing array 10Y and a photoreceptor array 12Y for input of a Y axis are set opposite to each other on other two sides respectively. Then the laser beams are sent to the polarizing arrays 10X and 10Y for X and Y axes from laser diodes 14X and 14Y respectively. The elements X1-Xn and Y1-Ym forming both arrays 10X and 10Y are driven in time series. Thus it is possible to perform the simple and accurate input of coordinates by means of an ordinary pen or a finger.
